Our approach was to create a highly scalable an reusable component library, with each component designed being mindful of it’s function and it’s usage across the entire design. Like Lego blocks we wanted to enable the team to be able to create custom templates as per the editorial teams needs on the fly almost eliminating any dependency.
The design process had to factor not just new content going forward, but the entire legacy of 10+ years of content in multiple forms of media (audio, video, text, podcasts, images, downloadable resources). A collaborative process involving primary stakeholders across multiple departments to arrive at a structure and semantic that could work in the long run.
